TY Writing Course (12/11/25-28/1/26)

This is an online course for TY students who are interested in writing, led by author Marian Brennan. The sessions will be live, interactive weekly sessions focussed on helping students to develop their book idea.

Weekly online sessions on Wednesday evenings @ 8 pm.

Session 1 (12/11): Introduction - how to get started and how to keep going

Session 2 (19/11): Setting the scene & the first chapter

Session 3 (26/11): Bring your story to life with dialogue

Session 4 (10/12): Character development

Session 5 (17/12): Show don't tell - using the 5 senses and dialogue

Session 6 (14/1): Plotting and planning

Session 7 (21/1): Editing

Session 8 (28/1): Publishing options and wrap-up
